This post is sure to get me spammed... but it's work I did and it turned out well, so what the heck!
I recently recorded the VO for an infomercial. I've done commercials, corporate, you name it, but never an infomercial, so that was cool. There was a time limit, but it was longer form than a 30 second ad.
But it gets better. It wasn't an infomercial for a vacuum or fitness program. It was for a supplement. And not just a supplement, but a male testosterone supplement!
The voice they wanted was smooth, aggressive and manly. And I delivered! And they were happy enough that we've recorded another with a slightly different sound to this one. I'll post it as soon as it pops up.
The cool thing about the second infomercial was that they initially said they wanted a much softer, friendlier read. But when the client heard the initial few paragraphs, they said that wasn't what they meant. We recorded a much manlier sound, and they were surprised it was the same actor! A great compliment!
Anyway, here's Promo 1, recorded back in December. Promo 2 was recorded the weekend before the Superbowl, so I'm sure it hasn't hit the airwaves just yet. Keep an eye out!
